Job summary

The Bronx Community College seeks tutors to support 6th and 7th grade students in math, ELA, social studies and civic engagement across partner schools.

Tutors will provide in-class assistance and one-to-one or small group tutoring, with a flexible schedule (at least 2 days per week) and a commitment for a full academic year.

Pay ranges from $20–$22 per hour depending on education level, with RFCUNY benefits and a strong emphasis on educational equity.

Qualifications

• Tutors must possess a bachelor’s degree, advanced degree (preferred), OR be a high performing undergraduate student (senior status) with a demonstrated ability to work with middle school students.
• Experience with tutoring or teaching middle/high school students.
• Experience with standardized test preparation for middle and high school students.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-class tutoring to 6th and 7th grade students.
• Assist students one-to-one or in small groups with questions on subject material and homework.
• Provide weekly progress reports to the Coordinator of Mentoring and Tutoring Services at The Bronx Community College.
• Support students across partner schools as needed.
