Job summary

Uncommon Schools seeks enthusiastic high school math teachers who will work in grade and content teams to develop self-guided learners who excel in mathematics. You will teach Algebra, Geometry, and possibly Calculus, preparing students for AP coursework and college readiness.

You’ll analyze student work with leadership, differentiate instruction, and foster a school culture that emphasizes relationships, engagement, and continuous improvement through weekly collaborative meetings and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Commitment to supporting students’ social emotional and academic development.
• Enthusiasm for collaborating with internal and external partners in the best interest of students.
• A self-directed learner who solicits and implements feedback to improve outcomes and achieve objectives.
• 1–2 years of interest/experience in impacting K-12 students in urban schools; related degree required.

Responsibilities

• Instruction: teach Mathematics (Algebra, Geometry, Calculus) and prepare AP coursework.
• Data Analysis: meet weekly with principal/coach to review student work and differentiate instruction.
• School Culture: build relationships with students and families; participate in weekly meetings; develop academic goals and instructional strategies.
