Job summary

Wake Preparatory Academy in North Carolina seeks a High School Exceptional Children (EC) Teacher Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. This role supports students with diverse learning needs in an inclusive classroom under the EC Teacher's guidance.

Responsibilities

Assist in the implementation of IEPs for students with disabilities, following goals and objectives outlined by the EC Teacher.
Help the EC Teacher deliver instruction in various subjects, adapting materials to meet diverse needs.
Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment, promoting respectful behavior and engagement.
Provide one-on-one or small group support as needed.
Observe and document student progress, reporting to the EC Teacher on outcomes.
Collaborate with EC Teacher, general education teachers, and support staff for cohesive instruction.
Encourage social interactions and friendships among students.
Assist in preparing instructional materials, resources, and equipment for activities.
Maintain open communication with parents/guardians regarding progress and concerns.
Adhere to other duties as assigned.
