Job summary

West Charlotte High School seeks an Exceptional Children Teacher Assistant to support EC students under supervision, helping implement IEP goals and provide access to general education.

You will assist with small groups, monitor students, prepare materials, supervise during transitions, and collaborate with teachers on data collection and classroom management. This is a full-time, 9-month position based at West Charlotte HS in Charlotte, NC.

Qualifications

• Must be able to assist EC students under supervision and implement IEP goals.
• Experience in classroom settings and ability to work with diverse learners.
• Strong communication with teachers and staff to coordinate instructional efforts.
• Willingness to perform a range of support duties and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all policies and procedures.
• Assist children individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, and gymnasiums.
• Assist with checking materials and portfolios, correcting papers, and testing as directed by the teacher.
• Prepare lesson materials and classroom displays.
• Participate in daily bus, car, and van transportation duties.
