Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of IEPs for students with disabilities, following goals and objectives outlined by the EC Teacher.
• Help the EC Teacher deliver instruction in various subjects, adapting materials to meet diverse needs.
• Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment, promoting respectful behavior and engagement.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support as needed.
• Observe and document student progress, reporting to the EC Teacher on outcomes.
• Collaborate with EC Teacher, general education teachers, and support staff for cohesive instruction.
• Encourage social interactions and friendships among students.
• Assist in preparing instructional materials, resources, and equipment for activities.
• Maintain open communication with parents/guardians regarding progress and concerns.
• Adhere to other duties as assigned.

The Exceptional Children Teacher Assistant plays a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs in an inclusive classroom environment. This position requires a compassionate and dedicated individual who is committed to fostering a positive and nurturing atmosphere for students. The Exceptional Children Teacher Assistant collaborates closely with the Exceptional Children Teacher and other educational staff to ensure that all students receive the support they need to succeed academically and socially.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assist in the implementation of IEPs for students with disabilities, following specific goals and objectives outlined by the EC Teacher.
• Help the EC Teacher with delivering instruction in various subjects, adapting materials and activities to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Help maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment, promoting respectful behavior and encouraging student engagement.
• Support students in participating in learning activities, providing one-on-one or small group assistance as needed.
• Observe and document student performance and behavior, providing feedback to the EC Teacher regarding individual student progress.
• Work closely with the EC Teacher, general education teachers, and other support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning.
• Encourage social interactions among students, helping them build friendships and navigate social situations within the classroom and school environment.
• Assist in preparing and organizing instructional materials, resources, and equipment for classroom activities.
• Maintain open lines of communication with parents or guardians regarding student progress and any concerns that may arise.
• Other duties as assigned.
