Job summary

Pitt County Schools is seeking a High School Exceptional Children (912) Coach to provide instructional, programmatic, and compliance support for EC teachers serving grades 9–12 at the Central Office in Greenville, NC. The role works with EC Specialists, Coordinators, and district staff to strengthen instruction, IEP development, and student outcomes.

The coach supports GC, OCS, and ECS programming and collaborates to ensure high school EC programming aligns with IEP goals and district

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in special education or related field.
• Current North Carolina teaching license in special education.
• Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience with students with disabilities preferred.
• Knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and EC compliance.
• Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom-based coaching and instructional support in GC, OCS, and ECS classrooms.
• Model and support evidence-based instructional practices and specially designed instruction.
• Assist teachers with aligning instruction, accommodations, modifications, and supports to students' IEPs and identified needs.
• Support OCS teachers, job coaches, and transition staff with instructional programming, transition planning, employability skills, and postsecondary preparation.
• Support teachers in creating structured, engaging learning environments that promote student success and independence.
• Provide resources, modeling, coaching, and follow-up support based on individual teacher and program needs.
