Job summary

Pitt County Schools is seeking an Exceptional Children (EC) Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in accordance with IEPs. The role ensures compliance with IDEA and state regulations while promoting growth in academic, behavioral, and functional areas.

The EC Teacher will develop and implement IEPs, differentiate instruction, collaborate with general education staff and related service providers, and serve as a case manager to support student

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's preferred).
• Valid state teaching license in Special Education or eligibility to obtain licensure in North Carolina.
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs aligned with student needs and grade-level standards.
• Provide direct, specially designed instruction and differentiate instruction.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, coaches, and specialists to support access to the curriculum.
• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
• Serve as a case manager for assigned students.
