Job summary

Uncommon Schools is seeking a Drumline Coach for Lincoln Park High School to develop a dynamic drumline program and cultivate leadership and teamwork among students.

You will teach percussion fundamentals, choreograph routines, and mentor 15–25 players, with Tuesday & Thursday sessions 2:15pm–3:15pm and possible after-school practices. Annual stipend of $8,000 paid monthly, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching or performing in drumline, marching band, HBCU-style band culture, or percussion ensembles.

Responsibilities

• Teach and develop students in percussion fundamentals and performance skills.
• Manage and coach a team of 15–25 high school students.
• Create choreography, cadences, show music, and performance routines.
• Prepare students for showcases, competitions, pep rallies, and school events.
• Build team culture, accountability, leadership, and discipline.
• Travel with students to local performances.
