Job summary

Newport Restaurant Group is seeking a Culinary Intern to join our team. You will train as a Line Cook, preparing soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foods for guests, while shadowing and gaining exposure to managerial responsibilities.

Placements will depend on availability and match. You will gain hands-on experience across stations and opportunities to learn new techniques in a dynamic Rhode Island and Greater Boston area setting.

Qualifications

• Must have flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and some holidays.
• Prior kitchen experience a plus but not required.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to different stations.

Responsibilities

• Measures and prepares ingredients according to recipe for soups, salads, gravies, desserts, sauces and casseroles.
• Washes, peels, chops and prepares vegetables and fruits as needed.
• Prepares meats, fish and other foods per recipe and technique.
• Assists in various kitchen stations and supports culinary team as needed.
