Job summary

The Anchorage School District is seeking a High School Assistant Manager I to oversee hot and cold meal operations at Eagle River High School. You will supervise, train, and evaluate cafeteria staff, ensure timely meal preparation, and maintain compliance with food safety regulations.

Responsibilities include inventory control, cash handling, and coordinating with district nutrition offices. Experience in large-scale food service and knowledge of POS systems are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of responsible experience in a large-scale food service operation including food preparation, proper handling, and safety.
• Two years of supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in cashiering and Microsoft Office.
• Proficient in basic math such as addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
• Must complete ASD Serving It Safe class within 21 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Manage food and supply inventories, ordering, production records, cash handling, and deposits.
• Ensure compliance with USDA and State meal pattern and service requirements.
• Monitor kitchen equipment temperatures and HACCP compliance.
• Maintain sanitation and food safety practices.
• Oversee meal program preparation and supervise kitchen staff.
• Adhere to ASD and Student Nutrition Department policies.
