Job summary

The ES Cafeteria Manager I at the Anchorage School District oversees daily meal preparation, inventory, and food safety to ensure meals are served on schedule. Key duties include HACCP compliance, NSLP recordkeeping, and supervising kitchen staff. This is a part-time, 9-month position with 5.5-hour days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of related work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
• One year of food service experience in general preparation, handling, safety and sanitation.
• Proficiency in cashiering and Microsoft Office.
• Proficient in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication).
• Must complete ASD Serving It Safe course and pass exam within 21 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Manage food and supply inventories and ordering.
• Maintain production records and cash handling procedures.
• Ensure lunches are prepared on schedule for students.
• Monitor kitchen temperatures and HACCP compliance.
• Maintain sanitation and food safety practices.
• Ensure NSLP compliance and accurate records at point of sale.
• Organize work and supervise kitchen staff; adhere to policies.
