Job summary

Dassel-Cokato Public Schools is seeking a Cook Manager at the High School to oversee daily breakfast and lunch operations, set up and clean up, and ensure nutritious meals for students and staff in a safe, orderly cafeteria.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, HACCP compliance, attending trainings, and coordinating kitchen duties. Required: high school diploma and MSFSA/NSFSA Level 2 certification; preferred experience in school nutrition programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• MSFSA/NSFSA Level 2 Certification
• Experience with food preparation methods, kitchen cleaning methods and serving and storage techniques
• Knowledge of safety and accident prevention in food prep and kitchen facilities
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
• Strong time management skills
• Ability to follow a standardized recipe
• Ability to stay calm under interruptions and frequent changes
• Ability to read operating manuals for equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and ensure directions are followed
• Knowledge of USDA Child Nutrition Program regulations

Responsibilities

• Set up and clean up for all food items, supplies, equipment, and serving areas
• Maintain cafeteria records and reports per guidelines
• Complete Daily Food Production Records
• Attend meetings and in-service training
• Keep food properly stored and at safe temperatures per HACCP
• Perform duties related to the assigned kitchen
• Assist in the preparation and service of food
