Job summary

Dassel-Cokato Public Schools is seeking a Cook Manager at the High School to oversee daily breakfast and lunch operations, set up and clean up, and ensure nutritious meals for students and staff in a safe, orderly cafeteria.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, HACCP compliance, attending trainings, and coordinating kitchen duties. Required: high school diploma and MSFSA/NSFSA Level 2 certification; preferred experience in school nutrition programs.

Qualifications

• Experience with food preparation methods, kitchen cleaning methods and serving and storage techniques
• Knowledge of safety and accident prevention in food prep and kitchen facilities
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations

• Ability to stay calm under interruptions and frequent changes
• Ability to read operating manuals for equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and ensure directions are followed
• Knowledge of USDA Child Nutrition Program regulations

Job description

Dassel-Cokato Public Schools is looking for a Cook Manager at the High School.

Duties:

• Arrange set-up and clean-up for all food items, supplies, equipment, food prep and serving areas
• Maintain cafeteria records and reports as required for local, state, and federal guidelines
• Completion of Daily Food Production Records
• Attend meetings and in-service training
• Ability to keep food properly stored and at safe temperatures as described by the HACCP Plan.
• Performs a variety of duties relative to the assigned kitchen of responsibility
• Assists in the preparation and service of food

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Prepare, set up and serve high quality nutritious meals to students and adults
• Performdaily production tasks as needed to include but not limited to; cook, steam, bake all other techniques
• Ensure proper sanitation and safety standards and regulations are in place and followed
• Ability to continuously move/lift up to 50 lbs, frozen food boxes, canned foods etc.
• Daily use of computer software program to manage student's meal accounts
• Perform all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Possession of MSFSA/NSFSA Level 2 Certification Required
• Working knowledge of food preparation methods, kitchen cleaning methods and serving and storage techniques
• Working knowledge of safety and accident prevention techniques pertains to food preparation and kitchen facilities
• Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations

• Ability to remain calm under trying circumstances and work with frequent interruptions

Salary and Benefits

• 174 Days and 8 hours per day M-F
