The position requires CPR/First Aid and NFHS concussion certification, strong communication with students and families, and collaboration with school staff to organize practices, games, and equipment management.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching the assigned sport.
• Exceptional communication with students and parents.
• CPR/First Aid certification required.
• NFHS Concussions in Sports certification completed.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates dependability, organization, respect, integrity, and sportsmanship.
• Utilizes positive interpersonal relations and effective communication skills.
• Exhibits problem solving skills and judgment.
• Maintains inventory of all sporting equipment and supplies.
• Procures needed athletic equipment and supplies with administrators and vendors.
• Communicates expectations to team members and families at season start, including practice schedules and playing time.
• Organizes and implements an efficient try-out system, practice plans, and game plans, including additional coaching staff.
• Assesses playing surfaces to ensure player safety.
• Follows district and school procedures.
• Applies knowledge of sport to develop players of all abilities.
• Maintains high behavioral and academic expectations for athletes.
• Ensures sportsmanship during practice, travel, and competition.
• Aims to increase knowledge of sport and player development.
• Partners with parent groups to positively impact players’ experience.
• Follows procurement and fundraising rules and procedures.
• Encourages skill development throughout the year.
• Promotes a positive image of the sports team in the community.
• Respects officials; head coach supervises bench personnel by rule.
• Provides health services and a safe environment; administers basic first aid and CPR if needed.
• Encourages scholastic achievement among athletes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
