Job summary

The high school head coach in Marana Unified School District works under the rules of the AIA and NFHS to lead the development of student athletes, coordinating, planning, evaluating, and implementing programs across the season.

The coach must model leadership, integrity, and a healthy lifestyle, while training staff, managing equipment, and communicating with families and administrators about schedules and expectations.

Qualifications

• Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
• NFHS Concussions in Sports completion.
• Arizona Teaching certificate or NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching required.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates dependability, organization, respect, integrity, and sportsmanship.
• Communicates expectations for practice schedules and playing time.
• Organizes try-outs, practice, and game plans with coaching staff.
• Maintains equipment inventory and procures gear with vendors.
• Ensures athlete safety and compliance with district procedures.
• Supports skill development and school-community partnerships.
