Job summary

PSD is seeking an athletic coach to assist the Head Coach in a high school setting, developing fundamentals and advanced skills while adhering to CHSAA and PSD guidelines.

You will help supervise athletes, coordinate practice sessions, communicate expectations to students and parents, and assist with equipment and safety protocols. This is an ongoing seasonal coaching role with a PERA retirement benefit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous coaching experience in the sport strongly preferred.
• Must have expertise in the fundamental skills, rules, and schemes pertaining to the sport.
• Criminal background check required for hire.
• Valid Teaching License or Special Services License issued by Colorado Department of Education OR Valid CHSSA Coach Certification.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required before coaching assignment begins.
• Complete required trainings upon hire: Concussion, Blood Borne Pathogens, Child Abuse and Reporting, and Sexual Harassment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach with practice sessions to develop sport skills and sportsmanship.
• Help supervise student athletes before, during, and after events and ensure safety.
• Attend and monitor practices and games.
• Communicate expectations to athletes and parents regarding practice schedules, games, and academics.
• Follow CHSAA and PSD guidelines.
• Assist with equipment management and facility use.
• Attend work punctually and perform other duties as assigned.
