Job summary

Reading School District is seeking a High School Assistant Coach to supervise student-athletes, promote safe play, and uphold district and PIAA policies. The position reports to the Director of Athletics and the High School Head Coach and offers a stipend set by the coaches pay scale.

Responsibilities include supervising practices, teaching game fundamentals, monitoring safety, coordinating with athletic staff and community youth programs, and serving as a positive role model for students in all

Qualifications

Must be 18 years or older.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Preferable experience supervising in athletics, recreation, education, or related fields.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a diverse environment.

Responsibilities

Supervise student athletes.
Stay current with rules, coaching techniques, schemes, and best practices.
Monitor student-athletes for safety and injuries.
Place student-athletes in positions to succeed in sport and life.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with staff, officials, and participants.
Ensure safety measures and proper equipment handling.
Attend training sessions and staff meetings.
Work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Verify eligibility by policies.
Secure equipment and facilities after use.
Communicate with administration and youth groups to foster participation growth.
Be a positive role model for student-athletes.
Support all school athletics programs.
