Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Education preferred.
• Teaching certificate preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to supervise students in a residential setting.
• Ability to respond effectively to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Tutor high school students with subject-specific information and study aids.
• Liaise with Chamberlain High School; coordinate conferences; manage forms and meals funds.
• Monitor CHS Parent Portal; compile missing assignments; send weekly reports to staff.
• Review grades for incentive money; plan and report quarterly awards.
• Set up Academic Review meetings; track progress for students below 2.0 GPA.
• Develop tutoring schedules; coordinate with Houseparents and staff.
• Schedule additional tutoring opportunities at CHS and community centers.
• Track data for Quality Improvement and maintain academic progress statistics.
• Assist students with ACT preparation and testing.
• Lead Lakota Nation Quiz Bowl participation; supervise overnight events.
• Assist in planning incentive trips and seek educational opportunities.
• Support 8th grade transition and Freshmen Orientation.
• Assist Transition Specialist with post-secondary counseling and college visits.
• Immediately report abuse/neglect or serious incidents affecting students.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the High School Transition Coordinator.
