Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Missouri seeks a Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician to support the high-risk cardiology unit and care team. The role involves direct patient care, vital signs, ADLs, and assisting nurses to ensure patient safety and comfort.

Preferred: CNA/PCT/EMT or Surgical Tech experience; Education: High School Diploma or GED; Schedule: 36 hours per week, days or nights, rotating holidays and every third weekend. Benefits eligible.

Qualifications

• Provides direct patient care to support licensed nurses.
• Collects vital information and reports changes to the nursing team.
• Assists with activities of daily living and basic clinical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nurse, promoting patient and family centered care.
• Collects clinical data and information on patients, and reports changes in patient status to the nurse.
• Assists nurse with patient and family education. Documents all patient care activities with correct terminology.
• Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet patient needs.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
