Job summary

FirstService Residential in Surfside, FL is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor responsible for the physical plant of a high-rise condo. You will supervise staff, coordinate repairs across carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and painting, and ensure safety and preventive maintenance programs.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in building trades, proficiency with MS Office, and strong communication skills. The role offers full-time hours, benefits and an annual salary of $76,960.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance supervisor role for a high-rise condo.
• Written and spoken English required.
• Strong maintenance skills in HVAC, cooling towers, chillers, painting, carpentry, plumbing and electricity.
• 3–5 years general experience in building trades, repair and replacement maintenance or handyman work.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, email).

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for the building(s).
• Supervise and direct maintenance staff through work orders.
• Plan, monitor, and appraise job results; coach and discipline employees.
• Assess repair needs and estimate repair times.
• Monitor contractors’ work and maintenance activities.
• Inventory and acquire maintenance supplies.
• Maintain disaster preparedness and crisis plans.
• Complete repair work orders and reports.
• Be on-call for emergencies and projects.
• Schedule and assign work to meet shift requirements.
• Request materials and tools as needed.
• Administer preventive and reactive maintenance schedules.
• Record and evaluate maintenance activities.
• Oversee or participate in construction and preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Train employees in maintenance tasks.
• Follow safety procedures.
