Job summary

Compass Group USA in Morristown, NJ, is seeking a Performance Executive Chef to enhance player health and performance through nutritionally optimized meals for athletes and coaches. The role oversees the culinary performance staff and ensures fresh, local, balanced, and nutrient-dense menus tailored to needs.

The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team, manage budget and menu development, and collaborate with dietitians to support athletic nutrition goals.

Qualifications

• Experience in athletic nutrition environments is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in culinary arts, nutrition, food science or related field is a plus.
• Strong leadership with budgeting and cost control abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop recipes, source, build and implement menus for all player, coach and staff meals with a focus on nutrient-dense foods.
• Lead culinary staff, including hiring, scheduling, performance reviews, and, if needed, termination in coordination with HR.
• Assist in establishing a culinary budget, including menu costing, inventory tracking, and invoice processing.
• Implement procedures for serving food, FIFO, labeling, dating, rotating and storage to meet safety standards.
• Establish relationships with quality, nutrition-minded vendors for local and sustainable ingredients.
• Coordinate meal preparation for off-season needs in alignment with team schedules and facilities.
