Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5+ years Software (traditional and model-based) or Systems experience, OR
• Master's degree in STEM with 3+ years Software (traditional and model-based) or Systems experience, OR
• PhD in STEM
• U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance

Responsibilities

• Estimate software engineering effort for projects in collaboration with development team, program management and customers, including development of new estimation methods.
• Manage performance and support career planning & development for Controls software engineers, including one-on-ones, PDRs, IDPs, skills matrix, etc.
• Mentor engineers to improve technical capability and project performance. Enable technical excellence of engineering deliverables for projects.
• Review and approve team technical deliverables as required, such as engineering documentation and drawings to ensure deliverables while complying with product certification requirements (RTCA/DO-178, ARP4754).
• Own and drive updates to development processes, ensuring compliance to external standards while being efficient to implement.
• Perform project-specific tasks at a specialist level, to develop and certify control systems.
