Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Capability Lead - Controls Systems to join our growing team in Reston, VA. This role supports flagship programs and complex technical challenges within a global, multi-disciplinary environment.

The position emphasizes SQCDP leadership, agile Scrum adoption, and transition to model-based product lines. Hybrid work with on-site days, and a strong focus on safety, quality, cost and delivery drive success.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5+ years of experience in Controls Engineering.
Master's degree in Engineering with 3+ years of experience in Controls Engineering.
JD/PhD
U.S. Citizen required to be eligible for consideration.

Responsibilities

Lead, engage and develop assigned personnel to meet current and future business requirements, including leadership of other managers.
Deploy or align assigned staff to work packages and lead delivery and approval of technical activities within accountability.
Plan load/capacity and ensure suitable SQEP are available to complete program deliverables, including MSP engagement.
Accountable for SQCDP measures for the aligned capability group.
Lead the Engineering strategy and drive it to completion with functional leadership support.
Ensure process compliance throughout the life cycle activity and for third parties/MSPs.
