Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc in Reston, VA is seeking a Capability Lead – Controls Systems to lead and develop the control systems team, ensuring delivery of technical activities across multiple work packages in a hybrid setup.

You will own performance metrics, align staff to program needs, drive automation and the use of digital tools, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, cost, and delivery objectives within Rolls-Royce’s engineering strategy.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years of experience in Controls Engineering, or Master’s with 3+ years, or JD/PhD.
U.S. Citizenship required for eligibility.
Good understanding of component engineering processes.
Experience leading engineers and building high performing teams.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop assigned personnel to become SQEP to meet current and future requirements.
Deploy staff to work packages and approve technical activities within their scope.
Plan load/capacity with the wider function and coordinate with MSPs and Do/Buy.
Be accountable for SQCDP metrics for the aligned capability group.
Promote world-class rules, tools and methods; drive automation and lean processes.
