Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Surgical Services Coordinator at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. The role supports the Surgical Services team by coordinating patient-related activities, maintaining schedules, and serving as the APM/OpTime expert.

You will liaise with physicians and staff to ensure timely and efficient patient flow. We expect 5+ years in medical office settings, strong scheduling and administrative skills, and a collaborative approach to care.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma/GED (Required).
• 5+ years medical office experience, or 5 years of customer service experience (Required).
• Related clinical office experience (Required).
• Prior customer service or insurance verification experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• A degree may be considered in lieu of some experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists manager/physicians to maintain patient focus and high-quality care.
• Oversees daily schedule and operations of assigned area.
• Acts as liaison between staff and Managers/Physicians.
• Coordinates pre-operative scheduling and testing.
• Handles administrative duties: phone screening, calendars, travel, prior authorizations.
