Job summary

Boston Renaissance Charter Public School seeks a Substantially Separate Special Education Teacher for PreK-2 to provide designed instruction and support to students with special needs. You will use diverse instructional methods and assessments to tailor education plans and collaborate with related service providers.

Position is full-time with responsibilities including IEP meetings, progress reporting, and inclusive practices within a data-driven framework.

Qualifications

• Experience addressing social, emotional, and academic needs of students.
• Knowledge of IEP process and FAPE requirements.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues and families.

Responsibilities

• Write and adhere to lesson plans in line with MA standards.
• Support school-wide performance standards and instructional methods.
• Implement core curriculum with grade-appropriate pacing and model.
• Attend grade level meetings and support teaching goals.
• Collaborate on curriculum and student needs.
• Prepare IEPs and communicate progress with families.
• Integrate technology into instruction.
• Participate in Child Study Team pre-referral process.
• Assess student needs using standardized and informal tools.
• Maintain records of reevaluation periods and parent communications.
• Collaborate with Speech, OT and school psychologists.
• Provide differentiated instruction.
• Maintain professional communications with staff and families.
