Job summary

KIPP Academy Boston Charter School seeks a Lead Teacher for the Substantially Separate Special Education program. You will oversee 1–4 content areas, align instruction to IEP goals, and collaborate with a team to support social/emotional and academic growth.

Preferred candidates have 2+ years’ Special Education teaching experience, MTEL/SEI by year one, and a strong background in data-driven instruction within a healing-centered school culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 2+ years of full-time teaching experience (in Special Education preferred).
• Pass Criminal Background Check.
• Obtain MTEL and SEI endorsements within the first year of employment.
• Experience with Special Education laws and paperwork preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be lead teacher for 1 to 4 content areas aligned to IEP goals.
• Create and internalize daily aligned lesson plans, unit plans, rubrics and assessments.
• Modify standards to meet the needs of students in the program.
• Lead the 504 and IEP processes for all students in the classroom.
• Collaborate with counselors and other team members to implement behavior supports.
• Develop and maintain relationships with families through communication and participation in events.
