Job summary

The Richmond Group USA seeks a Design Engineer for a leading global OEM equipment manufacturer in Virginia. You will own the heat exchanger design for contract orders, ensuring ASME Code compliance and alignment with customer specs.

Responsibilities include design calculations, GA/manufacturing drawings, BOM development, and document control. This high-visibility role offers growth in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
• 3+ years of heat exchanger and/or pressure vessel design experience.
• Familiar with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (Section VIII & IX).
• Familiar with IBC, CBC, ANSI and related standards.
• Strong with calculations, drawing packages, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design heat exchangers for contract orders.
• Ensure ASME Code compliance and customer specifications.
• Perform design calculations and validate design accuracy.
• Create general arrangement and manufacturing drawings; develop BOMs.
• Maintain document control records and provide technical support to project managers and manufacturing teams.
