Job summary

Thermal Engineering International (USA) Inc. is seeking a Sr. Design Engineer to assess customer specs, perform mechanical design calculations and FEA, and review manufacturing drawings for heat exchangers under ASME Section III/Vessels.

The role involves developing design standards, supporting proposals, coordinating with engineering and fabrication teams, and contributing to in-house automation and reporting. A PE license and 5+ years in ASME/HEI heat exchanger design are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Nuclear or Chemical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years of ASME Section III/Vessels/Heat Exchangers experience in power or P/O&G.
• Experience designing pressure vessels and heat exchangers per ASME Sections VIII-1/2, III or HEI standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mechanical and structural calculations (including FEA) and prepare drawings and BOMs.
• Review fabrication drawings for conformance to client specs and codes.
• Support proposals and project execution with customers.
• Develop in-house design automation for heat exchangers and link BOMs to estimating.
• Perform onsite equipment inspections and generate reports.
• Publish engineering and design standards for Section III offerings.
