Job summary

API Heat Transfer is seeking a Design Engineer to support strategic customer engagements with designs, calculations, drawings, and BOMs for conventional and complex initiatives. You will use ASME code calculations and develop tools as needed, while collaborating with manufacturing and sales to deliver projects.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree (BSME or BSMET) and Solidworks proficiency, with Lean manufacturing and heat exchanger experience considered a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Mechanical Engineering Technology (BSMET).
  • Proficiency in Solidworks.
  • Collaborative, analytical and solution-focused.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel design experience a plus.
  • Heat Exchangers specialization preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Use ASME code calculations to meet complex customer specs and develop calculation tools where none exist.
  • Prepare simple and complex layouts for components and subassemblies with cost and manufacturability in mind.
  • Partner with manufacturing, purchasing, applications engineering, and sales to deliver projects.
  • Support the team by validating outputs, analyzing results, and helping produce world-class products.
  • Contribute to setting project priorities and provide technical leadership.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to define scope, costs, and manufacturing feasibility.
