Opened in 1974, Maggie’s Place is Midtown’s oldest family-owned Irish bar and restaurant. For over 50 years, we’ve been a vibrant neighborhood staple near Grand Central and Rockefeller Center, serving up a polished pub menu, top-tier hospitality, and a lively after-work and weekend scene. We are seeking an energetic, detail-oriented Restaurant Manager to run daily floor operations and continue building our historic legacy.

Position Summary:

Working directly under the General Manager, you will maintain high standards of service, hospitality, and operational efficiency. You will be the primary presence on the floor during peak shifts: leading our team, managing guest relations, and ensuring our kitchen and front-of-house run in harmony. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced supervisor or assistant manager looking to step up and work alongside a supportive GM.

Key Responsibilities: Floor Leadership & Guest Experience
  • Active Floor Management: Lead shifts with high energy, managing floor flow, greeting regulars, and swiftly handling any customer issues.

  • Service Standards: Train and hold FOH staff (servers, bartenders, hosts) accountable to deliver friendly, efficient, and authentic hospitality.

  • Event Support: Assist the GM in coordinating logistics for private buyouts and happy hour events in our private mezzanine and bar spaces.

Operational Excellence:
  • GM Partnership: Support the GM in administrative tasks, including staff scheduling, inventory control, and opening/closing procedures.

  • Staff Management: Assist with onboarding new team members, running pre-shift meetings, and fostering a collaborative, positive kitchen/floor dynamic.

  • Safety & Compliance: Maintain a spotlessly clean environment, strictly enforcing NYC DOHMH food safety standards and alcohol beverage laws.

Qualifications:
  • Experience: 2+ years of restaurant management or supervisory experience in a high-volume NYC restaurant/bar environment.

  • Passion for hospitality: A welcoming personality that thrives in a high-energy, fast-paced setting.

  • Leadership style: Lead-by-example approach; you aren't afraid to jump behind the bar, run food, or bus tables when the team is in a rush.

  • Scheduling: Open flexibility to work a mix of mornings, nights, and weekends.

  • Certifications: NYC Food Protection Certificate required.

What We Offer
  • Competitive base salary (commensurate with experience)

  • Bonus plan

  • Paid Time Off (PTO)

  • Health insurance

  • Growth opportunities within our broader hospitality group

  • A stable, welcoming workplace with a rich NYC history
