Job summary

The Young Mens Christian Association of Northwest Nort in Park Terrace, NC is seeking a high-energy group exercise instructor to lead energizing, safe and educational classes that help members reach their wellness goals while having fun.

Responsibilities include creating a welcoming environment for all fitness levels, answering member questions, keeping attendance, attending trainings, and following YMCA policies.

Qualifications

• Appropriate certifications for classes taught.
• Other certifications as required by the Y.
• CPR/FA/AED/02 (ASHI) within 30 days of hire.
• Instructor experience preferred.
• Strong communication and social media skills.
• Knowledge and understanding of YMCA mission and philosophy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
• Creates a welcoming class environment for all fitness levels and encourages and motivates class members.
• Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living.
• Maintains working knowledge of wellness trends to provide effective information and support to members.
• Builds effective, authentic relationships with members and helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.
• Keeps accurate class attendance records.
• Attends required training sessions, workshops and staff meetings.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
