The University of Georgia in Athens seeks a Lab Animal Tech/Containment to support high containment animal care at AHRC, performing daily husbandry in ABSL-2/ABSL-3 environments and ensuring welfare, biosecurity, and compliance.

Responsibilities include operating autoclaves, cage washers, and biosafety cabinets; maintaining logs, assisting with safety trainings, and adhering to procedures. Typical schedule is M–F with rotating weekends; the role is full-time and benefits eligible.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience.
• Experience in veterinary, research or laboratory settings preferred.
• Ability to work in ABSL-2/ABSL-3 environments and wear PPE.

Mansioni

• Daily animal care and health checks, feeding, housing, and enrichment.
• Operate autoclaves, cage washers, biosafety cabinets and related equipment.
• Maintain logs and documentation for room, autoclave, and census activities.
• Assist with training, safety programs, and compliance with protocols.
