Job summary

University of Georgia in Athens seeks a Lab Animal Care Tech I to provide daily care for research animals, including feeding, water, sanitation, and environmental monitoring. This full-time role aligns with SOPs and PPE guidelines while supporting researchers across multiple species.

The position requires routine observation of animal health, detailed record-keeping, and teamwork with the research staff. Hours are Monday–Friday 8 a.m.–5 p.m., with possible overtime and weekend coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required with 2 years related experience.
• Ability to perform routine husbandry and sanitation following SOPs.
• Ability to observe animals and report health status to supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily care and husbandry for laboratory animals.
• Maintains daily logs/records and animal census.
• Operates basic animal care equipment and follows safety procedures.
