Job summary

Augusta University invites applications for a Laboratory Animal Care position on campus. This role involves manual labor, feeding and watering animals, cleaning cages, and assisting in a centralized animal care program.

You will work under supervision with emphasis on high-quality animal care and timely support to research teams. Required is a High School Diploma or GED, with a preference for related field knowledge and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Knowledge of animal husbandry/care is preferred/desired.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Feed and water all animals per specified standards and assist in cage washing.
• Disinfect animal areas and report environmental abnormalities to supervisor.
• Maintain clean and organized storage and supply areas; load and unload supplies as needed.
• Participate in continuing education courses for Laboratory Animal care.
• Perform other duties incidental to the work described herein as required.
