Job summary

Roskam Foods, a Grand Rapids, MI-based contract manufacturer, is seeking a warehouse associate with forklift experience. The role includes loading, unloading, and transporting materials, maintaining FIFO, and weighing/batching materials as required.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and at least 6 months forklift experience. RF Smart or Microsoft Dynamics experience is a plus, with competitive benefits offered.

Responsibilities

• Move levers or controls to operate forklift and load, unload, or stack materials.

• Position lifting devices under or around pallets and secure products.
• Weigh materials and record data on tags or labels.
• Follow FIFO and manage material order to support production.
• Forecast line needs and stage materials to keep production running.
• Inspect equipment and report defects through proper channels.

Key Essential Functions/Responsibilities

• Move levers or controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams with swivel-hooks, hoists, or elevated platforms, to load, unload, transport, or stack material
• Inspect product load for accuracy and safely move it around the warehouse or facility to ensure timely and complete delivery
• Manually or mechanically, load or unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices, or other transport vehicles.
• Position lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, or boxes and secure material or products for transport to designated areas
• Weigh materials or products and record weight or other production data on tags or labels
• Understand and follow the order of materials for FIFO
• Forecast needs of the line and stage the line appropriately to maintain necessary materials available that allow production to run smoothly
• Inspecting equipment, structures, or material to identify causes of errors or other problems or defects and reporting then through the appropriate channels

Education/Experience/Skills/Qualification

• High School Diploma or GED preferred, Previous warehouse or forklift experience
• At least 6 months as a forklift operator
• Experience with RF Smart or Microsoft Dynamics, a plus
