Job summary

Roskam Foods, a leading contract manufacturer based in Michigan, is seeking an individual to operate lifting devices such as forklifts and hoists to manage materials in the warehouse. The role involves inspecting product loads, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining smooth production flow.

• Position lifting devices around loaded pallets for transport.
• Record weight or production data on tags or labels.
• Understand and follow FIFO order of materials.
• Stage materials to maintain production flow.
• Inspect equipment to identify problems or defects.

Key Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:

• Move levers or controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams with swivel‑hooks, hoists, or elevated platforms, to load, unload, transport, or stack material
• Inspect product load for accuracy and safely move it around the warehouse or facility to ensure timely and complete delivery
• Manually or mechanically, load or unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices, or other transport vehicles.
• Position lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, or boxes and secure material or products for transport to designated areas
• Weigh materials or products and record weight or other production data on tags or labels
• Understand and follow the order of materials for FIFO
• Forecast needs of the line and stage the line appropriately to maintain necessary materials available that allow production to run smoothly
• Inspecting equipment, structures, or material to identify causes of errors or other problems or defects and reporting then through the appropriate channels
