Job summary

Dennis Eagle is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join the Aftermarket team. You will diagnose faults, service and repair our specialist fleet, and prepare vehicles for MOT while ensuring safety and quality in every job.

This hands-on role requires a Level 3 Heavy Vehicle qualification and experience with electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems. Flexible/hybrid options, strong training, and development are provided.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Experience maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
• A proactive approach to problem solving.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.

Job description

Role: HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic

Hours: 45 hours per week | between 07:30 and 17:00 Monday to Friday

Salary: up to £45,125.03 pa DOE

We're looking for a skilled HGV Technician to join our Aftermarket team, carrying out maintenance, servicing and repairs on our specialist fleet. This is a hands‑on role where you'll use your technical expertise to diagnose faults, solve problems and deliver high‑quality work that keeps vehicles safe, compliant and on the road.

What You'll Be Doing

• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on chassis and mounted equipment

What We're Looking For

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance (or equivalent)
• Experience maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles

• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams

It would be great if you also have

• Experience working on refuse collection vehicles or similar specialist vehicles
• Experience with electric vehicles
• IRTEC accreditation or manufacturer training
• HGV Class 2 licence
• Experience using workshop management systems
