Job summary

Lanes Group in Bradford is seeking an experienced HGV Driver to join a two-person team delivering wastewater network maintenance. This hands-on role combines HGV driving with outdoor drainage work, in a permanent position.

You will support jetting activities, inspect for blockages and document site records on a tablet. Health and safety adherence is essential, with a focus on customer service and professional representation of Lanes Group.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Desirable CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
• Drainage experience preferred.
• Competent in data entry on tablets/laptops.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a City Flex HGV as part of wastewater maintenance.
• Support high-pressure water jetting across the network.
• Identify blockages, leaks and drainage issues.
• Complete digital site records on a tablet.
• Follow health and safety procedures and risk assessments.
• Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles and PPE.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver safe, efficient work.
• Provide excellent customer service and represent Lanes Group professionally.

Purpose of the role:

As a HGV Driver, you'll work as part of a two-person team carrying out proactive and reactive wastewater network maintenance. This is a varied, hands-on role that combines HGV driving with operational drainage work, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and being part of a specialist team.

About the role:

• Location: Bradford
• Role type: Permanent
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 47.5 hours per week
• Salary: £14.50 - £15.50 per hour dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive and operate a City Flex HGV vehicle as part of wastewater maintenance operations.
• Support high-pressure water jetting activities across the wastewater network.
• Assist in identifying blockages, leaks, and other drainage issues.
• Complete digital site documentation and job records using a tablet.
• Follow health and safety procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.
• Maintain and care for tools, equipment, vehicles, and PPE.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver work safely and efficiently.
• Provide excellent customer service and represent Lanes Group professionally at all times.

Key Requirements:

Skills and experience:

• HGV Class 2 licence, with no more than 6 penalty points

Desirable:

• Previous drainage experience
• A Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
• Competent in using an electronic device – laptop / tablet for data entry
