Job summary

Lanes Group is recruiting a gully work operative for Bradford on a permanent basis. You will work in a two-person team, operating jetting and vacuumation units to clean drains and sewers and support reactive contracts.

You will use a tablet for data entry, hold a valid driving licence, and liaise with customers while ensuring safety and recording updates.

Hours are 47.5 per week, Monday to Friday, at £14 per hour, with CPC desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driving license.
• Experience using a tablet or laptop for data entry.
• CPC certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate jetting and vacuumation units in a small team.
• Carry out CCTV investigations to assess underground pipes.
• Use high-pressure water jetting to clear blockages in drains and sewers.
• Liaise with customers and update records.
• Report safety issues and perform vehicle/equipment checks.

Purpose of the role:

Working on a variety of different reactive contracts, you will be driving our gully wagons, working closely with an operative to clean along the highways.You will be working closely with a HGV driver to clean along the highways, up and down the country.

You will be assisting with getting in and out of the cab to conduct work accordingly, so a hands on approach is needed and a willingness to get stuck in; and you will be responsible for using a company tablet on a daily basis.

About the role:

• Location: Bradford

• Hours: Monday to Friday, 47.5 hours per week
• Salary: £14 per hour dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• You will be working closely in a team of 2 operating high specification jetting and vacumation units.
• Carry out remote CCTV investigations where required to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.
• Operate high‑pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear blockages in drains, sewers, pipes, and other wastewater systems.
• Liaising with customers.
• Updating electronical records.
• Ensuring safety issues are reported.
• Vehicle and Jetting Equipment checks

Key Requirements:

Skills and experience:

• Valid driving license
• Competent in using an electronic device – laptop / tablet for data entry

Desirable:

• A Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
