Job summary

AbbVie in the United States seeks a Director to lead HEOR strategies across on-market and pipeline assets, coordinating cross-functional teams to align with product strategy and commercial goals.

The role requires an advanced degree and 10+ years in HEOR/pharma, strong leadership, deep regulatory/HTA expertise, and the ability to engage senior leadership globally.

You will shape strategies, manage life-cycle initiatives, and ensure rigorous scientific communication.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a health or economics field; MD/PharmD/MS in Economics, Econometrics, or pharmacoepidemiology preferred.
• Ten years post-master’s experience (seven with a PhD); health field training is a plus.
• Experience leading complex products or clinical development in pharma, pipeline and on-market.
• Ability to operate in uncharted territory with few guidelines; navigate complex rules and regulations.
• Creative, effective solutions to cross-project conflicts and resource limits.
• Deep knowledge of global regulatory HTA and PR&A landscapes.
• Proven leadership in a cross-functional global team; interact with senior management.
• High goal orientation and drive to deliver commercial success.

Responsibilities

• Oversees design and execution of programs; communicates findings to executives and external audiences.
• HEOR strategy lead collaborating with cross-functional brand teams.
• Define global development strategy with cross-functional leaders.
• Drive high-quality HEOR programs for pipeline and on-market products.
• Develop life-cycle and labeling strategies with scientific and commercial teams.
• Deliver end-to-end HEOR book of work from strategy to content pull-through.
• Partner with HEOR COE functions to ensure a strong HEOR voice in meetings.
• Engage senior leaders with executive presence in cross-functional settings.
• Possibly manage two or more full-time direct reports.
