Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a qualified registered nurse to provide comprehensive patient care in a fast-paced environment. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care using evidence-based practices, while engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care.

The role emphasizes safety culture, continuous improvement, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. A BSN is preferred and an active RN license plus BLS are required to practice in the state(s) served.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license in the state(s) where practice.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications may be required by specialty.
• Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.
• Excellent clinical judgment and critical thinking; strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care, engaging patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence outcomes.
• Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
• Continuously evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units or facilities within the service area to meet patient care needs.
