Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a registered nurse in Illinois to contribute to patient care excellence. You will apply evidence-based practices, document thoroughly in EHRs, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe and effective care.

Responsibilities include using the nursing process, participating in quality initiatives, and maintaining professional certifications. This is a full-time, on-site role with opportunities to float between units as needed.

Qualifications

• RN license active in IL or multi-state license with privileges.
• BSN preferred; graduate from an approved nursing program.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in clinical settings.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; specialty may require additional training.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes.
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care with patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team.
• Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
• Evaluates outcomes and takes corrective action as needed.
• May administer medications and therapies according to protocols and procedures.
• Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and delegation within the team.
• Pursues professional development and maintains required certifications.
• Adheres to ANA Code of Ethics and delivers unbiased patient care.
• Delegates appropriately to RNs, LPNs, and unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units to meet patient care needs as required.
• Provides age-appropriate care with knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan.
