Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in medical technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, or related science required.
• Experience: Minimum of two years' bench experience in Hematology in a clinical laboratory setting required.
• Certification: MLS/MT from ASCP or AMT required.
• License: State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Supervisor license required.
• Other: Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills; problem solving and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technical and regulatory functions related to Hematology testing.
• Coordinate activities of the technical staff and allocate resources for efficient operations.
• Work with Laboratory leadership to develop and implement policies and procedures for Hematology testing.
• Develop training programs and ensure staff competence.
• Develop and implement quality control programs and monitor QC indicators.
• Act as a technical resource for laboratory and nursing staff for Hematology testing.
• Identify opportunities for performance improvement and cost containment.
• Perform clinical laboratory testing for Hematology in a timely, accurate manner.
• Promote excellent customer service and interact with providers, nurses, and other customers as a representative of the laboratory.
