Laurel Ridge Community College is seeking a Level I helpdesk technician to provide frontline support for faculty, staff, and students at the Technology Services helpdesk. You will resolve daily requests at your assigned location and assist other campus sites as needed.
You will maintain college computers and peripherals, perform preventive maintenance, and install/repair AV and networking equipment, cables, and related hardware in classrooms and labs. On-site presence is required.
Provides first level (Tier I) helpdesk support to college faculty, staff, and students who contact the Technology Services helpdesk. This technician is responsible for handling daily support requests at their assigned work location, as well as providing additional support to all other campus locations as needed.
Responsible for maintaining the College’s computers and associated peripheral equipment by performing preventive maintenance and repairs to other electronic office and classroom equipment. This equipment includes network components, computers, servers, audio-visual, video conference equipment, telephones, printers, and other classroom electronics.
Specialize in the physical installation and integration of server racks, A/V equipment (to include mounting), A/V furniture and cabinets, A/V cabling, physical networking links, and network equipment.
Tuesday-Friday 9:30 am – 7:30 pm. This position requires on-site presence, and does not have telework options.
The hiring range for this position is $54,711.00-$73,859.00. The position is classified staff and is eligible for the benefits package offered by the Commonwealth of Virginia for state agencies.
