Helpdesk Technician Job Description

We are looking for an individual to work directly with our K-12 and/or Municipal customers. The day-to-day role will include helping teachers teach, students learn, and municipal employees serve their communities through supporting their technology needs. This is a temporary, fixed-term position covering an employee on military leave. The start date will be determined by the hiring timeline, and the expected end date is approximately August 23, 2027.


The Help Desk Technician is responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient operation of the organization's IT infrastructure by responding to user inquiries, resolving problems, and escalating issues when necessary.


The individual will be working alongside a team which includes a lead technician, virtual office tech, and a Director of IT to meet the goals and needs of the school.



Help Desk Technician Responsibilities:


  • Providing support to users in person, over the phone, or via remote access. This includes communicating technical information in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical users.

  • Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues.

  • Diagnosing/troubleshooting issues with computer software, peripherals, and hardware.

  • Installing and configuring hardware and software components.

  • Repairing or replacing damaged hardware.

  • Educating staff on best technology/security practices.

  • Performing tests and evaluations of new software and hardware.

Help Desk Technician Requirements:

  • Relevant License/Certification - CompTIA A+ (Preferred)

Help Desk Technician Compensation, Benefits, Schedule, and Location


  • Compensation: $22.50 to $26.50 per hour

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:30am-3:30pm

  • Location: This position may require some travel.

  • Benefits include:
