Job summary

Barksdale Federal Credit Union is hiring a Computer Technician to coordinate, install, and maintain PC hardware, software and peripherals, and to deliver technical support by phone.

You will diagnose and resolve end-user workstation problems, perform preventive maintenance, and keep precise service records while supporting ongoing system installations.

This role requires 1+ year experience and a high school diploma with repair training.

Qualifications

• One or more years of related computer equipment repair experience.
• High school graduate with computer repair training and certification.
• Thorough knowledge of computer parts, applications, and telecom systems.
• Knowledge of testing and repair equipment.

Summary:

Coordinate, install, and maintain PC hardware / software and all peripherals. Deliver technical customer support over the phone; identify, troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of technical computer-related problems; identify, evaluate and solve end-user workstation problems. Responsible for repairing, maintaining, upgrading, and installing computers and related peripheral equipment. Performs diagnostic testing to determine source of problems and makes necessary repairs. Ensures preventive maintenance schedules are followed. Efficiently handles installation of new systems and equipment. Keeps detailed and accurate records of all work performed. Maintains testing equipment and repair tools.

Job Requirements:

• One or more years of related computer equipment repair experience.
• High school graduate or equivalent with computer repair training and certification or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Thorough knowledge of computer parts, applications, and telecommunication systems.
• Good knowledge of techniques, tools, and processes involved in designing technical plans, models, etc.
• Knowledge of appropriate testing and repair equipment.
