Job summary

Camden County College is hiring a Help Desk Representative – Tier 1 for the Office of Information Technology at the Blackwood Campus. You will provide user support, troubleshoot hardware/software, and log help desk interactions.

A flexible schedule including occasional evening/weekend shifts is required. A minimum Associate’s degree or equivalent experience is expected, with strong communication and customer-service orientation.

Responsibilities

Respond to technical help requests in person, by phone, or electronically.
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
Research questions using available resources.
Advise users on appropriate actions and follow help desk procedures.
Log interactions and escalate when needed.
Prepare activity reports and stay current with system updates.
Occasional night and weekend support may be required.

The Help Desk Representative – Tier 1 will report directly to the Help Desk Manager and will provide user support and customer service on company supported computer applications and platforms. Troubleshoot problems and advise on the appropriate action.

Job Description

Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, electronically

Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues

Rresearch questions using available information resources

Advise user on appropriate action

Follow standard help desk procedures

Log all help desk interactions

Redirect problems to appropriate resource

Identify and escalation situations requiring urgent attention

Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions

Prepare activity reports

Stay current with system information, changes and updates

A flexible work schedule is required with occasional night and weekend support.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience

Oral and written communication skills

Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.

Working knowledge of fundamental operations of relevant software, hardware and other equipment

Knowledge of relevant call tracking applications

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

A flexible work schedule is required with occasional shift changes.
