Job summary

Stark State College is seeking a Help Desk Assistant to provide level I support for faculty, students, and staff using the Online Help Desk and telephone etiquette. This federal work-study student position involves assisting users at the Help Desk, routing level 2 tickets, maintaining documentation, and supporting SSC staff on IT projects while upholding campus policies.

Candidates should have strong communication skills, be reliable, and able to learn quickly with a flexible schedule up to 20

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Experience with communication software and applications is preferred.
• Ability to work well with people.
• Strong telephone skills.
• Enrollment in an ET/IT program or previous IT experience is preferred.
• Good grades are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide level I help desk support to faculty, students, and staff using the Online Help Desk software and telephone etiquette.
• Assign level 2 support to the appropriate IT group.
• Assist users at the Help Desk counter and over the phone.
• Maintain documentation racks; keep printers filled with paper in open computer lab areas; assist SSC staff with projects as needed.
• Help Desk policies and procedures must be known and upheld by SSC.
