Job summary

Recology San Francisco is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform safety and preventive maintenance on fleet and heavy landfill equipment. You will document work, generate repair orders, and ensure safety standards are met.

Responsibilities include minor repairs, equipment cleaning, and operating forklift/yard equipment while adhering to company policies and DOT guidelines. A Class A CDL with medical certification is required within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of preventive maintenance mechanical experience with heavy vehicles.
• Waste and recycling industry experience preferred.
• Experience with DOT Out-of-Service Criteria and related inspections.
• Experience with maintenance of vehicles and processing equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of diesel and/or natural gas engines and associated components.
• Knowledge of electrical controls and motor systems.
• Knowledge of health and safety rules and procedures.
• Basic computer skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• Class A CDL and medical certification without air brake or automatic transmission restrictions within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections on company vehicles, heavy equipment, and stationary equipment.
• Document parts and maintenance work in paperwork or database, generate repair orders.
• Perform minor repairs and cleaning of components as required.
• Operate forklift and yard equipment as needed.
• Follow DOT safety standards and company policies; maintain a clean, safe work area.
